Nylon 66 and nylon 6 ‘s different advantage and disadvantage

The feature of N66 and N6 nylon performance

1. Nylon 66 has better strength and wear resistance than nylon 6, and has a more delicate feel.
2. Nylon 66 is more expensive than nylon 6 and has a softer feel than nylon 6. It can be made into superfine fibers and high-end clothing fabrics. The best quality down fabrics on the market now use nylon 66, which has a smooth feel, is light and soft, and has an anti-feather effect. However, dyeing is difficult, not easy to color, requires high temperature dyeing, and the color fastness is not very good.
3. Nylon 66 and nylon 6 are both polyamide fibers. Nylon 66 is made by the polycondensation of hexamethylene adipate; while nylon 6 is made by the polycondensation of caprolactam. From a molecular structure point of view, these two fibers are very similar, so their physical and chemical properties are basically similar.
4. The difference between the two:
Performance of nylon 6.6:
1. Higher melting point (264°C)
2. Tight crystal structure
3. Little affected by ozone and laughing gas
4. Difficult to dye
5. The fiber has the best Elasticity
The performance of nylon 6, the most suitable fiber for engineering: 1. Low melting point (228°C)
2. Loose crystal structure
3. Easy to fade under the action of ozone and laughing gas
4. Easy to dye
5. Fiber Poor flexibility
7. Not suitable for engineering needs
